Futureversity

This year Southwark joins the London-wide summer university programme, now Futureversity, giving you access to more courses and activities than ever before.

Southwark Summer University is for 10 to 19 year olds and is the hot place to try or learn something new, enjoy a new challenge, get healthy and have fun.

There are loads of different courses and activities to try out in a number of categories.

Job Ready for the City

Job Ready is designed to re-engage young people who have found themselves not in employement, education or training. Through this practical programme you can kick start your journey into employment. Professional from Barclays Capital will come in and work closely with you, sharing their experiences of work and what they get out of it.

What's involved?

The programme runs 3 days a week for 11 weeks (starting from January 2011). Sessions are run as workshops, role plays, team challenges and a host of other interactive activities. The course is accredited by OCB, so you get a qualification to put in  your CV. After the course staff will continue to work with you until you've found either a job or training towards a job.

Who is it for?

Anyone between 16-25 years old and is not in employment, education or training; and want to do something aobut it. You'd also need to live in the following boroughs; Southwark, Camden, City of London, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth or Tower Hamlets.
