UK Youth Parliament
The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) enables young people to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better.
Run by young people for young people, UKYP provides opportunities for 11-18 year-olds to use their voice in creative ways to bring about social change.
What do they do?
UKYP has 600 elected Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) and it is their responsibility to organise events and projects, run campaigns and influence decision makers on issues that affect young people.
Current campaigns are;
- Reducing the cost of bus travel for young people
- Improving political education
- Abolishing university tuition fees
- Sex and relationship education
- Reducing the voting age to 16
How can you get involved?
Any young person, 11-18 years, can get involved by either voting in the youth parliament elections or standing to become a Member of Youth Parliament (MYP). You can also support the campaigns or join debates by visiting the UKYP website.
