Young Southwark Works' campaign 'foot in the door' gives young people real opportunities to gain part time employment
Are you facing barriers to getting a part-time job? Not sure what to do or how to go about putting together a CV? Then read on...
The foot in the door campaign aims to generate part time work experience and promote part time work opportunities in the retail sector for young people from Southwark and the City of London.
It can help to put some money in your back pocket while you're studying, as well as gain you that all important life and work skills.

How does it work?

In week 1, you are asked to volunteer your time (on a Saturday or Sunday) working in a shop. You won't get paid for the first week, but you will get a free voucher of your choice (worth around £20).

In weeks 2 & 3, you'll get paid by Young Southwark Works. During those 3 weeks, travel expenses are paid for you but it’s down to you to work hard and show the boss that you are worth keeping!

Before you start work, a half day of customer service training and well as help with CV writing

Aged 16 or 17 and still at school in Southwark
