Foot In The Door Campaign
Helping young people into employment.
The Foot in the Door campaign aims to generate part time work experience and promote part time work opportunities for young people.
It can help to put some money in your back pocket while you are studying, while you gain some new life and work skills...
How it works
-
In week 1, you are are asked to volunteer your time (on a Saturday or Sunday) working in a shop. You won't get paid for the first week, but you will get a free voucher of your choice (worth around £20).
-
In weeks 2 & 3, you'll get paid by the employer. During those 3 weeks, travel expenses are paid for you but it’s down to you to work hard and show the boss that you are worth keeping!
-
Then - before you start work, a half day of customer service training will be offered to groups of 6-10 young people.
Criteria
-
Aged 16 or 17 and still at school in Southwark
-
Want to earn money, want to develop job skills and have a positive attitude
So it really is a good opportunity. You get to earn some cash, gain some new skills (which will last you the rest of your life, by the way), boost your confidence in the workplace and build your independance and responsibility.
