Campaign for youth
The UK Youth Parliament are about to vote on the three campaigns that they'll work on to make life better for young people.
The vote will take place on Friday May 2 in the House of Lords Chamber. The 250 UK Youth Parliament members (UKYP) will debate and then vote on the national campaigns for 2008 and 2009.
The six campaign ideas the members will be discussing are
- Abolish university tuition fees
- Fair and accurate representation of young people in the media
- Lowering the voting age to 16
- National public transport concession card for young people under the age of 18
- One single age at which young people are deemed to become an adult
- Your future, your world, your fight - recycling/environment campaign

Six short films have been made to highlight the importance of each campaign idea. You can view the six films on the UKYP website. All films were produced by Catch 21, the UK’s first political internet television channel based at Westminster - run by young people, for young people.
