Young Women's Group

The YWG (Young Women's Group) is another VAPA activity. We asked the young people at the session what takes place week in - week out. The sessions are split into three regular parts -
ChillOut Zone - A chance to relax, catch up, listen to music and read magazines.
Have Your Say - A discusssion forum where we talk about issues, offer advice and debate things that are going on in the world, big or small.
Art Attack - The creative element where we get into art with some fashion design, t-shirts, even knitting!!!
The YWG regularly have Movie Nights where they choose a movie, watch it & then talk about it. They have also just started having YWG forum nights, which some people have commented on below...
We asked some of the young people what they think of the YWG. Here are some of the replies...
"I like it because you get to socialize and meet new people and because it's just girls you don't feel embarassed to say what you feel."
"It's a chance for young people to have fun and relax after school."
We then asked, "Why should other young people attend the sessions?"
"It was funny, an experience and I learnt new things, you actually got people talking, having a laugh and knitting!! I loved it!!"
"It's an exciting place to be. You have a range of activities to do and you have good discussions. I like it being a womans group you have personal debates and you get to interact with others."
