Friends
A new school. But why did it feel so wrong? Read this article by Marcus to find out.
Friends, friends, friends… One of life’s big wishes.
I have to admit having friends was a problem for me, especially when I started secondary school. But with the help of teachers and family I developed the confidence to become one of the most popular people God created! : - )
No mates
It all started on the first day of school… secondary school. Almost all my mates from primary school had gone to different schools. The kids from my primary that did go my secondary school were not the type of people I hang around with… I was a bit of a geek! =8 - 0
For a couple of days I had gone around from group to group in our school, changing my character to make people like me. But it didn’t work and nobody would be my friend… I was lonely. : - (
“My mum questioned me if school was alright and then I broke down.”
I was known as ‘shy boy’ and often teased for being found by myself. I tried contacting my old friends but they had all changed and they were also to busy to talk to me. My mum started asking me to invite some of my friends over… What could I say? : - /
Open up
After weeks of asking, my mum questioned me if school was alright and then I broke down. I started telling her how I hadn’t got any friends and how I was struggling in school with my grades because of this. She told me that if I opened up more and let people to communicate with me, they would start talking to me. : - ?
So next day at school, I walked over to the people they called ‘the top people’. I overheard them talking about football. I really love football. I’m an Arsenal supporter.
Problem sorted. ; - )
