Finance vs. fun
An article about the choices you have to make when thinking about your college subjects, by Chris.
I just started college. My subjects are English, drama, business and finance. I chose English and drama. My parents chose business and finance.
So you can see the breakdown between us. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy my subjects. But at the time it was quite stressful.
Interesting vs. enriching
The subjects I chose are interesting and invigorating. The subjects they chose are more career-orientated. Fun, eh? Eight hours a week writing a 12,000-word piece of coursework for each module, woo hoo!

They were right though, I guess. Now I am considering a job in the city. By doing finance BTEC I meet lots of potential employers and get a six week PAID internship. Yep, that’s £1,500 in my pocket.
